Guidelines on the conflict of interest adopted by the Board of the Tribunal

On 20th May 2016, the Board of the Arbitration Tribunal for Sport at the Polish Olympic Committee adopted guidelines on the conflict of interest in cases heard by the Tribunal.

The guidelines are aimed at making it easier for arbitrators of the Tribunal to identify sources of potential threat to their impartiality and independence in cases where they are to give a ruling.

The regulation adopted also contains information essential for the parties to proceedings conducted before the Tribunal, and in particular in respect of the circumstances justifying a petition for excluding a given arbitrator from hearing a case.
