The Polish Olympic Committee
The Polish Olympic Committee is a national association of Polish sports associations and other legal persons, organizational units without legal personality or natural persons associated with the promotion of the Olympic movement and the development of Polish sport.
The Polish Olympic Committee was established on October 12, 1919 at the founding congress held in Hotel Francuski in Krakow. Currently, the Polish Olympic Committee operates pursuant to Article 24 paragraph 1 of the act on sports.
The Polish Olympic Committee is a non-governmental organization, which independently determines and pursues the objectives and tasks related to the Olympic movement and in the scope of the development of Polish sport. The Polish Olympic Committee ensures organization and appropriate conditions for the participation of the Polish national team in the Olympic Games, it promotes sport and the idea of the Olympic Games and mediates in contacts of the Polish sport with the international Olympic movement.
